On Thursday, AMC, the movie theater chain, announced that the concert film “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” has exceeded $100 million in global pre-sales.

This revelation comes slightly over a week before the film’s worldwide debut and shortly after AMC revealed its distribution deal for “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.”

Swift’s film has set a domestic record for AMC, generating the highest ticket-sales revenue in a single day, and is scheduled to screen in over 8,500 theaters globally.

The film is the latest economic boost from the Eras Tour, contributing to an estimated $4.6 billion in consumer spending, as projected by research company QuestionPro.

In the current year, five films have achieved over $100 million in domestic opening weekend gross revenue.

  • “Barbie” $162 million
  • The Super Mario Bros. Movie” $146 million
  • “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” $120 million
  • “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” $118 million
  •  “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” $106 million

Following the “Barbenheimer” weekend, the Swift film marks the second major event of the year for theaters aiming to entice moviegoers back post-pandemic.
