According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple’s rumored Bluetooth and Wi-Fi combo chip could debut with new home products, including a HomePod Mini and Apple TV, in 2025.

Apple’s new “Proxima” chip is designed to significantly reduce reliance on Broadcom, which currently supplies Bluetooth and Wi-Fi components. Sources tell Gurman that the chips have been in development for years and will be produced by TSMC, the same manufacturer behind Apple Silicon chips.

Gurman did not specify the exact launch date for the new HomePod Mini and Apple TV next year. He also mentions that the Proxima chip may appear in iPhones later in 2025 and in iPads and Macs by 2026.

According to Gurman, Apple is also developing a standalone security camera. Additionally, he has previously reported that the company plans to launch a wall-mounted smart display for controlling smart home devices next year as part of its broader push into the home market.
