Chrome browsing is set to become more user-friendly and efficient with the upcoming addition of three new AI-driven features.
Google introduces “tab groups,” allowing users to easily organize numerous tabs. Chrome will suggest and create groups based on open tabs, especially beneficial for multitasking on various projects or trip planning with multiple research tabs open.
To utilize this feature, simply right-click on an open tab and choose “Organize Similar Tabs.” The browser’s AI will group similar tabs together, suggesting a name and emoji for easy identification.
Additionally, Chrome introduces an AI-powered writing assistant to boost users’ confidence when crafting content in public spaces such as online reviews, social media posts, or emails. By right-clicking on a text field and selecting “Help me write,” users can receive AI assistance in refining their expressions.
Lastly, capitalizing on the popularity of AI-generated wallpapers initiated by the Google Pixel 8, Chrome now allows users to create personalized themes using AI. Similar to the phone feature, users can craft themes based on moods, colors, art styles, and more by selecting from a predefined list of words. An example provided by Google is “aurora borealis in an animated style with a serene mood.”
To establish an AI-generated theme, navigate to the “Customize Chrome” panel, select “Change theme,” and then opt for “Create with AI.”
While the writing assistant feature is slated for release next month, Google anticipates the tab organizer and theme generator to be available in the coming days.
Google has announced plans for additional AI and machine learning features later this year, including the integration of its new AI model, Gemini.
